Pittsburgh artist Daniel Marsula created this work for a 2018 press freedom forum dedicated to the memory of murdered Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi. The forum was co-sponsored by IFEP, the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the University of Pittsburgh. Marsula, an illustrator and designer, also paints in watercolor and oil. Many of his paintings portray urban and urban-industrial settings and reflects his love of Western Pennsylvania’s history and diverse landscapes.
Along with the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, IFEP co-sponsored a press-freedom forum April 11, 2019 titled The War on Truth: Journalism Has Never Been More Vital Nor More Imperiled. This forum was dedicated to the memory of Jamal Khashoggi.
